CHARLES CENTHUIT
Ornamentist
Charles Centhuit is an artist and artisan jeweler, mineral prospector and gem cutter based in Mont Blanc Valley, France.
He has always displayed a unique type of focus throughout life. Even as a young child of about 8 years old, taking up an authentic interest in the tools in his father’s workshop wanting not just to play, but to learn how they worked and use them efficiently. He would spend hours at a time using hammers to forge and shape tiny objets, such as pendants made out of tin lumps, wood nails & other bits of copper wire. Since then, Charles has never been a stranger to craftsmanship.
Cutting and polishing gemstones requires years of training and patience.
Being attentive to details and techniques gave him the opportunity to improve his work, from finding the pristine crystals in the mountains, to the making and finished wearable piece of art.
Today, he is one of the few jewelers who creates pieces from start to finish — gem cutting, fabrication, machining, engraving, stone setting, and much more.
His life-long love for nature and art have now found a place at the forefront of his designs.
His vision for each piece is to bring to life a concept; and to encapsulate it as a talisman for the collector to behold as a reminder of the story it tells.

"Les vrais compagnons, ce sont les arbres, les brins d'herbe, les rayons du soleil, les nuages qui courent dans le ciel crépusculaire ou matinal, la mer, les montagnes. C'est dans tout cela que coule la vie, la vraie vie, et l'on n'est jamais seule quand on sait la voir et la sentir."
